TABOR

Music Contest

Music is such a powerful medium and an essential component when telling a visual story. Each character and story world in a screenplay emerge gradually revealing their inner thoughts, subtleties and subtext, making the script stronger and deeper as layers of the story are embedded.

The TABOR Music Contest is designed for emerging artists, singers, songwriters and composers from Canada. The goal is to bring emerging talent with a unique voice to collaborate in an indie film.

Contestants must create an original theme song that captures the film's essence.

The Rules

  • Entries must be submitted ONLINE only.
  • Contest is open to emerging songwriters, composers and singers worldwide who are not signed to a major label record company. All songs must be submitted in ENGLISH.
  • The song must be the contestant's original work and contestants must own all copyright.
  • Contestants retain all ownership rights to the original theme song.
  • "TABOR" will have the right to use the song as part of the soundtrack, single release, promotional videos. A licensing rights contract will be signed with the winners of the TABOR Music Contest.
  • Entry into the music contest constitutes permission to use contestants' name, likeness and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
  • The song lyrics should be sent as a PDf file.
  • The song should be sent as an MP3 file.
  • The winners agree to allow "TABOR" to use their names, photographs, and song titles on the website. This will be used to inform other contestants and the media of the music contest results.
  • The winners also agree to use their names, photographs, song titles, song track for advertising and publicity purposes and for the creation of the official video of the song.
  • The decision of the judges are final. All judges and sponsors are immune from any competition disputes.
  • If necessary, we can extend the final deadline of the competition. All information will be kept updated on the website.
  • SUBMISSION DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON!
  • There is no submission fee.
